This position supports the Group Head of Process & Control ("P&C") Department and will work with other teams within the P&C group of departments to manage, track and report on remediation status of all observations/findings generated by the teams within P&C.ScopeManage and oversee 2 staffs, direct, review and approve all internal control assessment work under the P&C Issue Management Team. Reports into Group Head of Process & Control. This position is a project management professional with expertise in managing financial and regulatory reporting projects and issue remediation. This position will provide leadership to the team by setting the direction, defining the accountabilities and assignments, articulating goals and objectives, and monitoring and evaluating work. This position works closely with Group Head of Process & Control to ensure proper issue monitoring, tracking and resolution of all open observations/findings generated by P&C group. Number of direct reports: 2+ Number of indirect reports: 0 Responsibilities
                    • Responsible for maintaining and updating P&C's Issue Management Procedures Manual;
                    • Responsible for issue monitoring, tracking and facilitate resolution of all open observations/findings generated by P&C group with other cross functional teams/departments across SMBC AD;
                    • Manage P&C's overall issue management process (includes Follow-Up, Validation, Reporting, and Extension Processing) with Group Head of P&C and P&C Department Heads/Team Leads to provide periodic updates to various cross functional program governance teams for overall reporting, tracking and monitoring of observations/findings;
                    • Assist Group Head of P&C in the renewal, revision, and approval of P&C Policy and Procedures;
                    • Assist Group Head of P&C with the preparation of the SMBCAH and NY Branch's ("NYB") annual internal control report for U.S. CFO and SMBCAH CFO/GM of FAD Controllers;
                    • Assist Group Head of P&C with the preparation of the SMBCAH and NYB's quarterly management update reports for U.S. CFO and SMBCAH CFO/GM of FAD Controllers;
                    • Assist Group Head of P&C with the preparation of the SMBCAH and NYB's quarterly audit committee and other periodic management presentation materials for SMBC AD Senior Management or CxO consumption;
                    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other issue management teams across SMBC AD in order to effectively manage all open observations/findings generated by P&C group;
                    • Maintain a collaborative relationship with Internal and External Auditors in order to ensure that the observations/findings are closed-out in a timely manner;
                    • Train, supervise and review all staffs work under the MB ICFRR Department; Qualifications
                      • 8-10+ years of hands-on experience in project management experience in financial & regulatory reporting remediations related to FRB MRA/MRI-A or IAD Findings within financial services industry is a must;
                      • Team player with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
                      • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
                      • Expert with Microsoft office applications, and strong knowledge of data analytic tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx is a plus
                      • Relevant certification or industry accreditation (e.g., CPA, CFA, CIA, PMP) is a plus
