such a special place to work. Job OverviewMacy's Associate Editor
will spearhead content creation for Macy's consumer touchpoints,
crafting editorial stories about our brand, products and assortment
that inspire our customers to try the latest trends, purchase the
season's must-have items and shop our store events to drive sales
and instill loyalty. The editor will write and produce
multi-platform content across emails/mobile messages, digital
platforms, print books and in-store signage in partnership with
Brand and Marketing Strategy, our Customer and Digital Team,
Merchants and Creative. The ideal candidate has an editorial
background in lifestyle or commerce journalism, is obsessed with
following pop culture, and can craft everything from must-open
subject lines to features that make fashion trends and home decor
more accessible for our customers. What You Will Do
- Identify storytelling opportunities around our company,
products and style trends in partnership with our Merchandising,
our Fashion Office and Trends teams.
- Report, write and produce emails and multimedia-heavy digital
experiences in partnership with Creative and Interactive Marketing
that fit the brand's voice and style while still driving
revenue.
- Synthesize marketing campaign details into effective digital
content strategies and actionable creative briefs; partner with
Creative to ensure campaign assets are optimized for customer
touchpoints and effectively communicate campaign messages in ways
that engage consumers.
- Quarterback editorial packages and special projects from
inception to execution to drive earned media and customer
engagement.
- Extend storytelling opportunities to non-digital owned
touchpoints, including in-store experiences, marketing activations
and paid media channels.
- Align storytelling across owned and third-party platforms by
collaborating with the Social/Influencer, Partnerships and Media
teams.
- Develop and execute content marketing partnerships with
external vendors that drive earned media and sales.
- Use analytics tools to track performance and synthesize
insights to make informed decisions about future content
strategy.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that
strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with
colleagues, customers, and communities.

duties may be assigned. Skills You Will Need
- Strategic Thinking: Demonstrates the ability to develop and
implement long-term content strategies that align with consumer,
cultural, and competitive market factors
- Content Strategy and Storytelling: Experience in architecting
content strategies, planning, and managing editorial calendars, and
writing/editing lifestyle or commerce stories to drive engagement
and sales
- Innovation and Creativity: Champion of innovative and creative
content solutions that drive business results.
- Trend Awareness: Stays up to date on style, commerce and
digital trends and technologies to keep strategies relevant and
effective
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in using digital analytics and
insights to inform content strategies and measure performance.
Ability to develop and manage a reporting system that communicates
insights and metrics
- Collaboration: Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
with to align strategies and achieve business goals
- Project Management: Ability to coordinate cross-functional
teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely
execution and alignment with business priorities
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal
communication skills for effectively conveying content strategies,
performance metrics, and insights to stakeholders
- Customer Focus: Develops audience-first CRM strategies and
content that engages and delights customers, inspiring them to
shop
- Flexibility: Capable of creating quick-turn content as well as
planning for long-term content initiatives
- Results-Oriented: Proven track record of driving business
results through strategic thinking, creativity, and innovation Who
You Are
- Six or more years of content marketing or editorial publishing
experience, preferably with digital, retail or commerce
background.
- Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work
experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
- Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to
touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the
workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close
vision.
- This position requires heavy lifting, constant moving,
remaining in a stationary position, and reaching with arms and
hands. Involves remaining in a stationary position for at least two
consecutive hours, lifting at least 30 lbs. stooping, kneeling,
crouching, and climbing ladders. May involve reaching above eye
level. Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and
focus adjustment.
