Job Description:

The Compliance Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Risk Management Director is a senior management level position responsible for establishing internal procedures to prevent money laundering and assist in all matters concerning financial crimes in coordination with the broader AML team. The overall objective is to manage a team, utilize in-depth specialty knowledge to identify issues/problems and devise recommendations for complex situations.Responsibilities:Lead and manage staff of AML professionals to accomplish goals and invest in the development of team members through the development and execution of AML trainingDevelop and assist in the implementation of firm-wide AML risk management policy and strategic AML Compliance Risk Management (ACRM) direction as well as maintain the AML compliance program for the businessesTranslate AML strategy and goals across Citi clients, products, and geographies in a succinct brief and clear manner as well as provide direction and guidance on the programProvide advice to the businesses regularly on new business initiatives, new products, business acquisitions, and client-related matters with respect to applicability of policies, resolution of potential red flags, or other client/transaction-related compliance escalationsWork with business/functional line management in recommending, developing, and executing on business initiatives within permissible statutory and regulatory frameworksAssess complex issues, structure potential solutions, and drive effective resolution with other senior stakeholdersLiaise with regulators and Citi internal audit staff for AML matters including coordinating AML related examinations, audit and reviews, document production, and issue repliesParticipate in and manage various internal assurance processes including regional enterprise wide and horizontal risk assessments, self-assessment, internal audit, and compliance testing reviewAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.Qualifications:15+ years of relevant experience8-10+ years of managerial experienceAnti-Money Laundering (AML) certificationExperience in managing regulatory exams and relationships with examiners and auditorsExtensive knowledge of appropriate regulatory requirements including local and US laws, international and industry standardsExtensive knowledge of AML regulations, risks, and appropriate controlsDemonstrated leadership and motivational skillsAbility to work with regional and global partners, and influence and lead people across culture and senior levelEducation:Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experienceMaster's degree preferredProgram Responsibilties:Responsible for planning, designing and the executing all annual Enterprise-wide AML Risk Assessments and Horizontal AML Risk Assessments, including execution of the AML program self-assessment against the OCC Heightened Standards.Drive the development and engagement with various stakeholders to confirm areas of risk at an assessment unit is fully covered; and /or if topics should change for horizontal focus. Proactively incorporate emerging trends and identified best practices into process.Coordinate and provide challenge to the receipt of key risk indicators and metrics reporting to inform of inherent risk levels working closely with ICRM partners.Design and lead the execution of writing risk assessment reports that clearly articulate compliance risks and controls across a country, regional, business sector, product or enterprise wide to quantify compliance risk. Provide credible challenge of results at the Global, Regional and local Country level.Lead governance sessions for the compliance risk assessments and facilitate stakeholder engagement and accountability.Coordinate with ICRM business partners in the design and execution of AML data collection, methodology, and technology requirements.Deliver results to senior team and lead / engage AML Compliance Risk Managers in discussion regarding business impact and plans to address areas of concern. Capture and monitor control rating enhancements efforts. Provide ongoing credible challenge and monitor results through quarterly reporting.Lead and manage a team of diverse professionals, fostering an environment that promotes and rewards professional development and growth, accountability and high ethical standardsCompiling and drafting internal governance forum material and, where appropriate, running internal governance meetings and coordinating associated follow-ups.Supporting line-of-business ACRM teams through the phases of planning and execution of Citi's Enterprise-wide AML Risk Assessment (EWARA) including, where appropriate, drafting material for the EWARA report.Any necessary coordination required to execute Management Control Assessment (MCA) processes within ACRM.
