The Associate Director, Healthcare Intelligence plays an integral role in supporting the Healthcare Intelligence team. The incumbent is mainly responsible for seeking, evaluating and developing new business plans based on emerging healthcare innovations and related in-licensing activities aligned with overarching business strategy. The incumbent will harness his or her abilities and strong working relationships with academia/startups/biopharma/governments in the US, and in rest of the world, to facilitate collaborations with them. This position will be a direct report of the Director, Healthcare Intelligence with appropriate operational and project management support of the disease monitoring plan in neurodegenerative disorders and other key initiatives to ensure their successful implementation. Responsibilities Plays a role on research, networking, identification of emerging healthcare technologies and scientific assessment of same. Innovations are expected to be wide-ranging targets for potential commercialization (digital therapeutics, disease monitoring tools, modalities new to MTPC, etc.) or alternatively, innovations that could improve internal operations Explores the in-licensing/collaboration opportunities of innovative technologies and products from healthcare/IT industry and academia in collaboration with other Healthcare Intelligence team members Builds strong internal relationships and collaborates with colleagues in other areas of the company, particularly with Healthcare Venture Management (Boston), Global Business Development Group (Jersey City) to enhance internal efficiency Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), lending scientific and business expertise and guidance, as needed, to direct reports as well as other functional areas as the recommended innovations move forward in the process and undergo additional scrutiny from a business and economic perspective. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications BA/BS degree in Science related field preferably advanced degree such as PhD. Experience in disease monitoring sensor/system, especially in neurology field, is highly preferred 5+ years pharmaceutical/healthcare/IT industry experience; some business development experience is preferred Experience facilitating the meetings by Skype/web-ex with collaborators in different locations Strong organizational skills; ability to juggle multiple projects and work well under pressure while maintaining stringent attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) Well-organized, motivated self-starter, hard-working and independent Strong analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail and organization Maintains optimism and energy in the face of change and adversity; willing to collaborate and problem solve Detail oriented and solution driven Willingness to travel 10-15% domestically and internationally Physical Demands Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment, i.e. computers, phones, copy machine/printer Ability to carry, handle and reach for objects Ability to lift and pull up to 15 pounds
