Job Description:

Founded in 1989, by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace, The York Street Project is a not-for-profit 501c3 social service organization whose overarching mission is to weave innovative programs together that shelter, feed, educate and promote the healing and independence of persons in need, especially women, children and families. The Project is composed of multiple housing programs for homeless families and single women, an early childhood development center and supportive services, including mental health counseling, career development, and life skills training.The work environment is collaborative and empowering for both staff and program participants with a major focus on family and individual well-being, and the educational, economical and human development of women, children, and families.Core Competencies:Adept in Technology - possess a thorough understanding of computer software, CRM databases, and operating systems in order to perform the job.Verbal & Written Communication - able to communicate YSP needs and progress through reporting and presentingOrganization - ability to keep the office organized as well as individual tasksTime Management - accurately plan tasks and time they will take to fulfillPrioritizing - the order of importance or planning out the process of tasksResourcefulness - adaptability to get the job done, apply creative and multi-tasking thinking skillsDetail-Oriented - ensuring that work is accurate and trustworthyAnticipates Needs - showing initiative to support the needs of the work instead of waiting for direction or constant supervisionResponsibilities:Managing data integrityCreating data structures to support York Street Projects evolving needsManaging data needs, creating user rights, funds, campaigns, tables, and configuration for the data systemProcess donationsDraft and execute donor acknowledgment lettersPrepare, process, and mail philanthropic stewardship lettersMaintain monthly reconciliation of grants and donations to the general ledgerAct as the Development Departments liaison with the Finance DepartmentCreating and maintaining simple and complex reports, dashboards, spreadsheets, graphs and presentations, to analyze and report various financial and service informationProduce ad-hoc reports as neededTraining of database, maintaining training materials and ensure comprehensionLeadership to manage data driven projectsAbility to perform imports and exports of dataProactively meet with Development Department and other key organizational staff to build relationships and review data needsEnsuring protocols for entering and maintaining information are consistently followed, including making recommendations for necessary improvementsWorks with outside vendors and internal technical resources in the design and implementation of the databaseProvide administrative event supportProvide information support to staff, volunteers, and constituentsPartner with York Street Project staff to ensure continuous outreach to donors through the website, constant contact, email blasts and updatesProvide additional administrative support where necessary.Requirements:Must have the ability to work well with othersStrong verbal and interpersonal communication skills are required, as are a commitment to customer service and the ability to deal effectively with internal and external constituenciesMust demonstrate attention to detail, superior organizational skills, and an ability to handle multiple tasks, deadlines, and changing priorities with good judgmentA thorough understanding of database management, gift processing, and donor relationsHighly proficient writing and editing skillsStrong PC skills: "Etapestry" (Blackbaud), Database CRM Management, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, Publisher, and MailchimpMust be a flexible, enthusiastic self-starter with the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively on a teamMust respect the confidentiality of information and demonstrate personal integrityA Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience in the fields of non-profit database management, Development, or finance
