The Manager of Purchasing Process will be responsible for supervising a team of experts that manage all support functions related to Purchasing. The core functions include Master Data, Transfers, Purchase Order Confirmations, Drop Ship PO Creation and PO Expediting. The Manager of Purchasing process will look for ways to make the team more efficient and effective as well as be a subject matter expert in product lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day to day activities of each core support function
  • Identify ineffective and inefficient process and provide solutions for improvement
  • Build, maintain and enhance tools and reports focusing on exception management
  • Develop a relationship with Buying team in order to effectively understand our products and the relationships with our source suppliers
  • Continuously monitor workload and shift resources to accomplish daily tasks
  • Hire, train and develop 5+ direct reports
  • Analytic skills: Able to think objectively and interpret meaning of quantitative and qualitative data
  • Problem solving skills: Able to use logic and innovative methods to solve problems and identify effective solutions

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree, in related discipline preferred
    • 3+ years of purchesing process experience
    • A minimum of 5 years of related supply chain experience required
    • Prior supervisory experience required
    • Computer literacy: Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, experience with inventory management software and an aptitude to quickly learn other technical applications
    • Collaborative approach: Able to build effective relationships with our Buying Team, source suppliers, and other internal and external business partners
    • Strong organizational skills: Attention to detail, urgency to follow up on open issues and drive toward closure, simultaneously manage multiple tasks Innovative: Willing and able to use a creative or unconventional approach if the task calls for it
    • Management: Ability to manage both people and process in order achieve objectives
