This role is responsible for driving multiple complex initiatives ensuring that business and user needs are met via product capabilities within the Agents' and Partners' digital experiences. This Product Manager (PM) will be responsible for working closely with various technology teams, business stakeholders, leadership teams, and other product team members to deliver digital solutions that are implemented on time and with quality that meets original business intent. Through intense collaboration, and with institutional and platform knowledge, PM will lead processes that support investigation, definition, refinement, and delivery of business requirements. It is critical that PM leads the creation of a solidified product vision and design that will form the foundation for finalizing technical requirements and initiating delivery. Also, critical that the PM actively identifies gaps and mitigates risks. This role will require an ability to research independently, creatively solve problems, collaborate successfully, and communicate effectively. PM is also accountable for presenting solutions to various leadership teams and conduct demos in front of diverse audiences. This role will be self-directed to master business processes, maximize efficiencies, and show initiative to suggest improvements to existing processes. Overall, this role is necessary in building a better integrated digital experience at New York Life. This person must be able to communicate proficiently, make progress on multiple fronts at once, be detail oriented and be extremely organized. Strong relationship skills are required to build trust and partnership across the organization.
Major Responsibilities:


  • Work collaboratively with various business and technology teams to drive integration and alignment between enterprise strategy, digital initiatives, and user needs
  • Assist in developing functional vision via an iterative design process which actively solicits and incorporates feedback
  • Creatively problem solve by blending user needs with technological capabilities to deliver maximum value
  • Contribute to a digital product's successful development, testing, launch, communication, rollout, and refinement
  • Serve as persona proxy responsibly while working with other teams in developing design and functional requirements
  • Solve broad range of problems independently, escalate when appropriate, and maintain quality relationships to contribute to a highly effective team
  • Research obstacles toward digital adoption and include creative solutions focused on digital user experience
  • Engage with end users to understand patterns, pain, and viability of potential solutions
  • Lead in fostering a productive teamwork environment across multiple teams that are not directly reporting to you.
  • Demo developed solutions both large and small numbers of internal and external stakeholders

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience
    • Proficient expertise in most common desktop and network computer applications, including but not limited to: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, One Drive, and Teams as well as Zoom, PDF viewing/creation, social media, and Android or iOS operation
    • Leverage extensive experience to anticipate project and strategic level user experience changes to bring the best possible digital experiences to the field
    • Facilitate client's product visions by researching, conceiving, wireframing, sketching, prototyping, and mocking up user experiences for digital products
    • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions
    • User Experience design experience in using systems like Sketch, InVision, Adobe Photoshop, Vizio, etc.
    • Experience and understanding of software development lifecycle in delivery of digital products related to Scaled Agile
    • Experience working with procurement and third part risk management areas. Knowledge of Vendor RFP process
    • Experience in sales activity management and or sales experience
    • Understands NYL's key Agency drivers, goals, structure, GO Structure, and what is day in Life of an agent/partner and best practices
    • Ability to form partnership and relationship across technology and Agency business teams as well as end users (Agents/Partners)
    • Willingness to build knowledge of NYL process including the agent life cycle, the Sales life cycle, and scrum based software development
    • Experience in speaking and leading to build capabilities through "voice of Agents/partners", with minimal guidance from product manager, in shaping business requirements to meet end user's needs
