Upon resumption of normal operations, this role may be performed at our Buffalo, New York, Jersey City, New Jersey, New York City, New York or Arlington Heights, Illinois office. The Data Issue Management Specialist will play a key specialist and oversight role across Data Services and related DAO work streams. This role will be accountable for providing expertise to inventory issue inquiries. By regularly driving concentration risk analysis across GB/GFs, systems, processes, and regions to inform recommendations, this role is strategic in proactively identifying opportunities for issue management enhancements and tactical in overseeing the end-to-end issue lifecycle. This role will carry out some or all the following activities: Assess concentration risk across GB/GFs, systems, processes, and regions to inform recommendations on process / technology-related changes and raise concentrated risk to senior leadership Serve as the Global Connector for US DAO regarding new tool development Conduct thematic reviews across progression of high and critical issues Maintain a touchpoint with the Governance & Practice Lead and team to deliver quality working group sessions, support escalation, and deliver reporting requests Engage with internal DAO team members to ensure concrete understanding of issue lifecycle roles & responsibilities Advance specialized issue management projects that focus on enhancing data services processes for the team and Bank The role holder needs to perform a proactive, collaborative role as the intermediate between external stakeholders and the US Data Services team and US DAO HSBC is going through an unprecedented period of change in its move to a sustainable globally led and connected organization. There is increasing external scrutiny and pressure on the Financial Services industry from governments, regulators, media, investors, and brokers. The role holder needs to understand the impact of all these changes on the US DAO and US Data Services and support accordingly The role holder will be required to interact with many internal and external parties at the highest level of management and therefore needs an outstanding level of professionalism and gravitas Interact and be a representative throughout the region at various levels of management on behalf of the DAO Effective engagement with external stakeholders, while keeping them informed on progress related to their requests Requirements Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions. Minimum 5 years of proven experience in project management and intake management for a data organization Experience coordinating with and within a large technical team Experience with issue management and ability to oversee the issue management functions and processes Ability to coordinate across conflicting requests and prioritize competing demands Strong communication and interpersonal skills A good knowledge of the US DAO, and the broader organization, and its strategy, internal policies, and procedures is preferable Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at the most senior level in the organization Necessity to make robust/tough decisions that may be contrary to others' wishes and ability to prioritize competing demands Strong leadership and program management ability, developing and motivating cross-functional employees Ability to cope with pressure and tight deadlines and be change-oriented Ability to multi-task and maintain business and project deadlines Well-developed written and verbal communication skills Strong problem-solving skills As an HSBC employee, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities to ensure you have the right skills for today and tomorrow.
