Job Description:

J.P. Morgan seeks a Head of Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC) for the Asset and Wealth Management (AWM), and Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) lines of business based in New York to manage the Global GFCC teams across both lines of business and provide strategic, operational and execution leadership to the team and the businesses.Compliance plays a critical role in the successful execution of the firm's mission. The Compliance function ensures a strong control culture by developing and maintaining a Compliance program infrastructure that identifies, measures, and monitors compliance with applicable laws, regulations and rules that govern our business globally. Compliance teams work closely with business, Legal, Risk, and Audit functions to provide expertise on regulatory compliance matters, assess and measure compliance and related risks, and monitor and test the adequacy of the firm's compliance control environment.Responsibilities include :

  • Managing a team of experienced Compliance professionals in a global matrixed organization responsible for all aspects of the GFCC program, which includes AML/KYC, OFAC/Sanctions and client Anti-Corruption Compliance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior business stakeholders by providing advice and counsel on new and existing businesses and clients
  • Help develop, review and provide feedback on Risk Assessments, higher risk client types, KYC and Escalation Standards
  • Escalate and provide updates to relevant Senior Level Committees and Forums
  • Input into New Business Initiatives, potential M & A and strategic investments, assessing the Financial Crime risk impact on proposed new products and services
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends and emerging risks and anticipate areas of focus and attention of regulators, keeping the business and Compliance colleagues informed
  • Ensure there is a strong escalation culture to drive consistent execution of a robust control environment and awareness within the senior management of the businesses and GFCC
  • Provide thought leadership by leading change through an entrepreneurial mindsetRequirements :
    • Strong executive presence with the ability to inspire a large and geographically dispersed organization.
    • Proven ability to establish a strategic vision and drive strong outcomes and results
    • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead across a broad stakeholder group
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, inquisitive nature and comfort challenging current practices
    • High level of professionalism, self-motivation, and sense of urgency
    • Provide regular updates to various regulators and ensure active coverage and participation in regulatory exams
    • Provide thought leadership by leading change through an entrepreneurial mindsetQualifications:
      • BA/BS degree required
      • 10+ of work related experience working in Risk Management at a Global Financial Institution with strong knowledge of products, services and client types across wholesale banking
      • Excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to interface with, and influence key internal and external stakeholders and foster collaboration
