The Key Account Business Development Director, Road Logistics provides market specific expertise and sales leadership to reach and exceed product volume targets. This position is responsible for the creation and deployment of the growth strategy for our domestic product in the Automotive and Industrial verticals. The Key Account Business Development Director, Road Logistics is the lead business development person in the Automotive and Industrial verticals responsible for management of all Road Logistics target account opportunities in conjunction with the corresponding Kuehne+Nagel World-wide stakeholders. The position is to be seen as a "multiplier", working with all stakeholders involved towards customer opportunity development, generating increased awareness and focus around the Road Logistics product.


  • Act as the single point of contact fordomestic solutions and service sales across the Automotive and Industrialverticals within the NAM territory and customer base.
  • Obtainnew customers through sales "hunting" activity, correctly assessingthe prospective account as Profitable, Significant or Strategic in order tosecure winning bids.
  • Actas a "multiplier" in support of the domestic product across sales channels byactively promoting and assisting in closing opportunities throughout theverticals.
  • Takeactive role in developing Road product and Go To Market strategy to service thedemands of customers in the respective verticals.
  • Directlyresponsible for delivering the vertical-wide Road target through direct sellingand indirect selling as a multiplier.
  • ConductQuarterly Business Reviews with the customer and maintain close/ongoingcommunication with customer and Kuehne+Nagel Operations to assure expectations aresatisfied.
  • Reportto management in agreed intervals on market development, working and buying platform.
  • Adhereto all policies listed in the Kuehne+Nagel US Sales Guidelines.
  • Additionalduties as assigned.


    • Bachelor's Degree or greater.
    • 10 years field sales in domestic logistics or 10 years ofoperational experience.
    • SalesManagement experience preferred.
    • Experienceselling domestic solutions to Fortune 1000 level companies.
