DescriptionThe Community Development Relationship Manager is responsible for managing and expanding a portfolio of Credit Client Relationships., The Relationship Manager will have annual loan origination, deposit and cross-sell goals. - This role works closely with the Portfolio Manager to ensure efficient and sound loan underwriting, portfolio performance, maintenance and asset quality. - This position is based in the New York City area.Responsibilities:

Manage a portfolio of credit and non-credit relationships of varying size and complexityBe responsible for active market coverage of prospective clients and drive new client acquisition through direct calling on clients, prospects and centers of influenceFocuses on For-Profit and Not-For-Profit developers of affordable housing and other economic revitalization projectsContinually raise market awareness for Citizens BankHolds primary responsibility for the client relationship, including important credit matters and developing loan structuring optionsStays abreast of changes in Bank products and services, is capable of identifying appropriate client product fit, and is able, at a high level, to present each product to a client or prospectActively organizes and manages/leads Bank meetings with clients and appropriate internal partners and team membersInteracts with the client in order to discuss and resolve risk related issues and will help develop strategies and actions to resolve any issues that could increase risk or create losses for the BankReview, negotiate and understand complex legal documentationUtilizes the resources of the Portfolio Management team effectively so as to stay engaged in driving new business and serving client needsActively coordinates with cross sell partners to help facilitate the sale of additional Bank productsEngage with Syndications on multi-bank transactionsQualifications
Minimum eight years of relevant experienceExhibits a history of competency in soliciting, developing, servicing, and structuring a wide range of secured and unsecured Community Development and Commercial Real Estate/Commercial loans, including complex transactionsAble to handle the most difficult and sensitive client relationshipsCapable of handling difficult negotiations, including in the area of loan documentationDemonstrate skill in the area of large exposure and complex credit managementExcellent credit skillsResponsible for cross-selling and product knowledge/applicationHighly experienced in credit matters, able to read, interpret and understand credit issues quicklyAble to develop loan structuring optionsHas knowledge of all capital market products and services offered by the BankHighly skilled in financial modeling and able to quickly structure credit in modeling environmentIn-depth knowledge of loan and related legal documentsHighly developed communication skills; and ability to influence others by persuasively presenting thoughts and ideas to gain commitment and agreement for proposed ideas and solutionsIndependent thinker and self-starter, enthusiastic, resilient, and energeticEducation: -
