Get to know the business: The Global Sourcing & Procurement (GS&PS) function is an integral part of Finance providing sourcing and contracting globally for third party goods and services across AIG. Within GS&PS, the strategic relationship team is responsible transformational, foundational and control activities. Team is supported by shared services team at multiple locations outside of the U.S.

Global Sourcing and Procurement Services is looking for a diverse team of talented people who support our culture of collaboration and innovation. A key aspect of this role is building collaborative relationships with our internal business partners, as well as strategic relationships with suppliers. This position will actively manage multiple time-sensitive requests, effectively interface with all levels of management, including executive leadership.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Contract Management, the Sr. Contracts Manager will lead contracting activities for AIG's Global Sourcing & Procurement Services (GS&PS) organization, focused on negotiation of best in class contracts with AIG suppliers and compliance with a consistent streamlined supplier contract lifecycle process.

Key performance areas for this Sr. Contracts Manager position include:

  • Review early stage deals to flag major contracting issues to ensure early engagement with relevant subject matter expert teams (Legal, ISO, Tax, etc)
  • Negotiate agreements with AIG suppliers in assigned categories
  • Develop and lead contract strategy to leverage AIG spend and align the contracting strategy with the category and business strategy
  • Proactively manage active agreements for assigned key suppliers, including renewal/expiration activity and to monitor older agreements for periodic replacement or amendment as AIG standard terms change
  • Ensure compliance with AIG contracting processes and standards
  • Work collaboratively with AIG Legal teams to provide GS&PS feedback and revisions to draft template agreements; ensure templates are prioritized and optimized for GS&PS requirements
  • Participate in development and delivery of training & best practice info sharing within GS&PS, focused on contract negotiation and AIG contract positions.

    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree focused in related area (Business, Supply Chain, Contracts, Law)
    • Experience drafting contract provisions and Orders/Statements of Work (SOWs), coupled with excellent writing skills and attention to detail
    • Self-motivated and collaborative leader with 8+ years of relevant experience
    • Strong issue spotting skills and ability to identify and advocate for different potential positions to resolve those issues
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Deep knowledge of best in class sourcing and contracting processes
    • Demonstrated leadership of complex supplier contracting, ideally at Fortune 100 and across multi-entity global corporate structure
    • Strong ability to influence others
    • Experience working collaboratively with senior management
    • Advanced experience using Microsoft Word

      Preferred Qualifications
      • Advanced degree in related area, such as Business, Supply Chain, Contracts or Law
      • Experience leading complex contracts management and negotiation for at least two of the following categories: Licensing, Cloud Services, Managed Services, Real Estate, Marketing or Human Resources
      • Experience working in a large, global, highly matrixed company
      • Intermediate to advanced experience with the following tools: Excel, Power Point, SharePoint and Ariba

        For positions based in NYC, the base salary range is $103,000 - $143,000. For positions based in Jersey City, the base salary range is $93,000 - $138,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
