• Preparation and review of financial packages for Head Office Consolidation and IFRS reporting of Bank subsidiaries.
• Perform month end, quarter end and year end financial books closings. Maintain accurate books and accrual entries at month end.
• Interact with various departments, Head Office Financial Accounting Department, and external accountants
• Assist in review of various reporting within department and work on projects assigned (J Sox, system upgrades)
• Assist and lead the Finance Transformation, Issue Management and Oracle Cloud projects within Subsidiary Accounting department under Finance team
• Cross support within team structureQualifications and Skills
  • 10 - 15 plus years of accounting experience in financial institutions and/or public accounting experience in the financial service industry.
  • Product knowledge of derivatives and financial products. ASC 815 (derivatives and hedge accounting) ASC 310-10 (receivables), ASC 320 (Investments debt and equity securities), ASC 842 (leases)
  • The ability to independently research accounting issues.
  • Knowledge in accounting system applications, especially Oracle General Ledgers, Loans LIQ
  • Self-starter, work additional hours required to meet all reporting requirements for month end and quarter end reporting
  • Team oriented and willingness to take ownership of job responsibilities
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Knowledge of IFRS reporting standards
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Access, Word)
