Data Integration Lead, Vice President
The Data Integration Lead within the Data & Enterprise Content Management Department oversees Delivery of Data Services through a new Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) being built on AWS/cloud. The integration lead owns development, roll out, and testing of web service API based data integration between data consumers and EDP. Partner with EDP product development teams to ensure API integration is developed for scale and ease of implementation for all future data consumers. In addition, work with project and product managers to manage IT stakeholder relationships, sets and execute against project milestones, and manage quality, client satisfaction, and engagement throughout the implementation life-cycle.
The ideal candidate will be an adaptable project lead who will have a technical background coupled with proficient business acumen to enable them to draw and effectively communicate meaningful business conclusions and insights from a wide variety of data sources and structures.
Primary job responsibilities involve supporting ingestion and transformation pipelines that handles data for analytical or operational uses across broad line of business needs areas and enterprise data domains. In many cases, the data integration lead also works with Business IT teams in proactively identifying data quality issues, and coordinating with the development groups to ensure data accuracy to business analysts, leadership groups, and other end users to aid in ongoing operational insights.
An independent & self-motivated lead support engineer must be versed in broad approaches to data architecture and applications, and will develop components/applications by studying operations and designing, and developing, reusable services and solutions that support the automated ingesting, profiling, and handling of structured and unstructured data.
Conceptualize, develop and deploy data integration solutions using bi-directional web service APIs and ensure all functions of tagging, troubleshooting and maintenance are performed accurately
Analyze business and technical requirements to build import files from various data sources and execute the ETL process end-to-end
Ensure barriers to timely completion of software implementation projects are anticipated and overcome
Build and foster strong relationships with all levels of technical and non-technical audiences alike at client institutions
Work effectively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of implementation
Encapsulate findings through new product integration exercises for the overall benefit of EDP data integration effort and present recommendations to internal leadership around preferred data integration methodologies
Proactively identify, recognize, and act on opportunities for improvement in order to advance business goals. Confront problems, change, and/or challenges quickly and enthusiastically
Communicate with all internal and external partners in a pleasant, professional manner and with an attitude that promotes EDP goals and core objectives
Explores, examines and interprets large volumes of data in various forms and recommends additional sources of data for improvements.
Education: Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience in design, development, and implementation with distributed applications involving Data Warehouses and Data Marts.
6+ years of data integration experience in a lead role, preferably in financial services industry.
Must have 8+ years of Informatica ETL experience in both batch and real-time or near real-time data integration
5+ years' experience extracting data utilizing API integration from a variety of platforms, performing data mapping, data transformation, and loading data to the target system
Conversant with Metadata driven architectures (metadata tagging, data classifications, lineage, discovery)
Fluency in web-service API integration deployment with sufficient experience supporting large-scale web services (RESTful APIs) or Informatica Web services
5+ years of experience in data modeling, data design and persistence (e.g. warehousing, data marts, data lakes).
Experience with Big Data approaches and technologies including: Hadoop, AWS, Spark, Kafka, Hive, Oozie (experience with Angular JS/HTML5/Node JS are big plus).
Experience with SQL (MySQL, Postgres) and NoSQL(MongoDB/HBase/ReDis) database is expected.
Understanding of AWS Data Services like RDS, Redshift, S3, Athena, Glue, Kinesis, EMR
Experience with one or more RDBMS platforms (DB2, Oracle, etc.) is a must
Has led, or been directly involved with, the investigation and resolution of incidents and complex data issues in a production setup. Offer counsel on risk mitigation and the alignment of data solution with objectives.
Strong experience in Creating Data Flow Pipeline using Informatica ETL tool
Experience working in an agile environment with DevOps mentality and CI/CD practices with exposure to Bitbucket, Sonarqube, Junit, Jenkins, CloudFormation is a plus.
Proven ability to communicate ideas and obtain buy-in with audiences at various technical and business levels
Ability to prioritize well, communicate clearly, have a consistent track record of commitment and accountability for Level0, Level1 and Level2 support, as well as excellent troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work individually without much direction while also working as part of a team towards a common goal
Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT management, and engineers
