Ability to manage projects and motivate team members to meet deadlines. Experience working in a formalized Sourcing and Risk process environment. Primary Responsibilities: Market Data Vender Relationship Functions Manage commercial negotiations with relevant Market Data vendors and liaise with legal to ensure favorable commercial terms which meet business requirements and mitigate business risk. Ensuring that Company Financial Group leverages its global purchasing power with the vendors while undertaking proactive management of the global contracts on behalf of all relevant entities Working to simplify and streamline procedures for order management, cancellation, contract management and invoice payment while working closely with the Market Data Finance Team Ensuring that all the terms of all deals whether global or domestic are communicated to the relevant entities/stake holders who are entitled to consume the products, as well as managing the compliance aspect for Company Financial to uphold the Company brand Chairing regular meetings with the vendors, facilitating the involvement of the BA’s and business with key vendor representatives Ensuring best practice is put in place for negotiation of all market data purchases Ten years or more Equities, Fixed Income, Investment Banking specifically within a Market Data BA or Vendor Manager role Global multimillion dollar value contract negotiations. Ten years or more experience negotiating and managing Market Data contracts Regional/global market data inventory management and cost allocation participation Strong administration and market data product knowledge. Good understanding of market data inventory systems, processes and procedures preferably MDM. Finance & cost allocation process MS Office suite academic and professional qualifications Higher economic, business or finance education degree Required Background: BA/BS preferred. not required with concentration in business or economics. Minimum seven years direct exposure to Market Data vendors, products, and distribution alternatives. Prefer in depth knowledge of comparable products in Analytical Tools, Real-time and non-real-time Pricing across all asset classes, and Index Database Categories. Fluent knowledge of the financial services industry – buyside / sell-side; capital markets, investment banking, Equity Research,asset management, etc., and what their most optimal market data requirements and profiles should be, by vendor & service mix Excellent organizational skills required to complete simultaneous projects and business requests Good project management skills and judgment to resolve analytical problems and analyses using proven best industry practice Excellent communication skill needed to interact within Company business and vendor personnel Must have team mentality to be successful within the tightly knit Global Market Data Group Thorough understanding of trading room systems, including, but not limited to Bloomberg, ThomsonReuters, FactSet, CapIQ, MarkIT as well as exchange data globally Strong understanding of fundamental data, index constituent and weightings data, end-of-day pricing data, and the primary fundamental and quantitative database applications that use this data. Thorough understanding of legal terms and conditions are critical to a firm’s intellectual property and user provisions as it relates to data use, derived data creation & use, distribution & redistribution.
