Registered Nurse Operating Room (OR) | Jersey City, NJ | Contract An established healthcare organization seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive perioperative care in the Operating Room. This role requires commitment to quality patient care, collaboration with surgical teams, and the ability to respond promptly when on call. Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Call required: minimum one weekday night call per week (11:00 PM 7:00 AM), up to two calls weekly Weekend call approximately once every fifth weekend (24 hours Saturday and Sunday) Ability to respond and arrive onsite within 30 minutes of call notification via personal cell phone Responsibilities: Deliver direct and indirect patient care for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and older adults in the perioperative setting Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff to ensure patient safety and efficient flow Supervise and guide Operating Room Technicians and other personnel Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulations, and professional standards Participate in performance improvement initiatives, unit meetings, and educational in-services Serve as a knowledgeable resource for nursing and support staff Qualifications: Current and valid RN license in applicable state Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintained thereafter ACLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA) certifications obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained Minimum one year of perioperative nursing experience or equivalent on-the-job training Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Experience in preoperative and postoperative care Location:Situated in a vibrant urban community, this position offers access to diverse patient populations and opportunities for professional growth.
