About the Role CHANEL is looking for an energetic, independent, and curious self-starter to join our F&B E-Retail Team based in New York City. You will play a leading role in identifying areas of opportunity through analysis, building new tools to study & monitor our digital distribution, and independently manage the business & relationships with key Retailers. This role interfaces with internal and external teams - both domestically and internationally - and is a key partner for Marketing, Media, Artistic Direction, Global E-Retail, Planning, and Legal. Our ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience and a passion for insights and analytics, building new automated tools (eg. AI), working on a fast-paced multi-faceted team. What impact you can create at CHANEL: The growth in eRetail has established this channel has a key contributor in sales, profit, and image for the US CHANEL F&B business. In recent years, the space has rapidly evolved both in its significant impact in sales and in its potential as a media platform. Investment in driving awareness and conversion on e-retail has grown substantially to keep pace with the competitive environment. As we continue to increase our investment with dedicated strategy and goals, we need to ensure the appropriate strategic development and execution of media and marketing plans for eRetail, and actively analyze results to learn and evolve our strategies. Partnership with our Retailers is more important than ever before as they shift their strategies to best drive & meet demand, to ensure CHANEL remains a top brand in their departments. Strong effective and proactive communication is crucial to drive strong internal cross-functional partnerships and relationship development with our Global eRetail counterparts. eRetail STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT Develop bespoke marketing initiatives and audience strategy by accountOwn and manage eRetail calendar for assigned Retailers with site exposure, relevant dates and campaigns. Ensure all campaigns are coordinated with Brick and Mortar and owned retail and ecommerce initiativesOwn relationship and act as point person for select Retailers, partnering closely with them to understand their initiatives and priorities, and negotiate exposure within brand guidelinesUnderstand and apply Global guidelines to strategies, while also challenging & working to influence Global policy's to best meet the needs of the US digital marketLeverage data to create recommendation based on performance to optimize investments mix between all available tools (free and paid) and accountMaintain budget for line items related to assigned Retailers eRetail STRATEGY EXECUTION Support the development and execution of all digital initiatives by collaborating within the organization (brand marketing, PR, Account Development, Artistic Direction, etc.) and negotiating with retail partnersManage the delivery and internal routing of campaign placements between internal and external teams for assigned Retailers eRetail INSIGHTS AND REPORTING Own Monthly Master eRetail report leveraging NPD, SimilarWeb, Cognos, and Retailer data analysis to understand how we are positioned within the competitive landscapeWeekly and Monthly sales reporting vs. planning forecastOn-going competitive landscape research and analysis to identify gaps/opportunities/best practiceProactively make strategic recommendations based on analysis findingsAct as point person for cross-functional teams on deep-dive analysisPartner with Media team to create ROI/learnings recaps for campaigns and Media flights to inform investment strategiesPartner with Sr. Group Director on reports and presentations for leadership eRetail SITE COMPLIANCE AND AUTOMATED AUDITING Act as point person for Global Guidelines, Media Guidelines, and legal terms outlined in all US eRetail contractsManage external vendor in developing innovative tool for automated monitoring of eRetail sites in USPartner with Sr Group Director on researching and developing new tools and technologies to audit the eRetail space, ensuring CHANEL contracts and image requirements are being upheld at all timesProactively research new technologies in the AI space for web tracking and reportingAct as point person for sharing reports with leadership on Retailer's compliance, areas of risk, and any Global Guideline developments You are energized by: Working in a highly collaborative and fast paced environmentIdentifying efficient ways of working and problem solvingStory-telling through insights and dataBuilding relationships with key-stake holdersRepresenting CHANEL with external partnersNegotiating for best in class brand supportCommunication and presentingAbility to work independently and autonomously own areas of the business What you will bring to the team: Deep understanding of CHANEL positioning in the Fragrance and Beauty MarketDemonstrated strength in independently synthesizing data and complex messages into effective and clear presentation materials and presenting to leadershipNPD (Circana) & Cognos experience requiredSimilar Web & PowerBi experience preferredExperience managing relationships with Retailers preferredExperience in planning and actualizing BudgetsStrong relationship and project management skillsStrong analytical and statistical skillsStrong skills and experience working in Excel and Power Point requiredDemonstrated strength in communication and influencing skills; not only written and verbal, but also in the engagement of internal and external business partnersOpen to new ideas and actively builds networks to achieve goalsHighly self-motivated, results-oriented, strategic thinkerStrong time management and prioritization skills Position Logistics: 5-7 years of experience in eBusiness, Marketing, Planning, or Business DevelopmentHybrid Weekly Schedule: 3 Days in office in New York City; 2 Days RemoteOccasional travel What skills you will learn? Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other forms of variable pay [may/will] be offered for this position.
