Position OverviewThe Meat Department Supervisor plays a crucial role in assisting the leadership team with the management of meat department personnel, ensuring the seamless operation of daily activities. This position is responsible for overseeing and curating attractive meat displays that engage customers.Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and assign tasks to meat department staff.
  • Collaborate with the team trainer to develop team members, fostering a high-performance culture and reducing turnover.
  • Assist in onboarding new employees using structured training materials and checklists.
  • Address and resolve challenging customer inquiries and situations.
  • Ensure that all team members receive their scheduled breaks.
  • Maintain accurate temperature, sanitation, and cleaning logs.
  • Set and uphold the highest standards of retail execution.
  • Encourage a positive atmosphere characterized by teamwork, respect, and high morale.
  • Monitor customer traffic and needs, directing team members to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Select, mentor, and motivate team members to sustain a high-performance environment.
  • Communicate and uphold safety and security standards for team members.
  • Conduct timely and comprehensive performance evaluations.
  • Consistently embody and communicate the vision and goals of the organization.Required Skills
    • Strong communication skills with a focus on leadership and development.
    • In-depth knowledge of meat department policies and procedures.
    • Comprehensive understanding of meat products and the ability to convey animal welfare information to customers and staff.
    • Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and customer relationship skills.
    • Ability to teach and guide others constructively.
    • Thorough product knowledge.
    • Advanced understanding of safety and regulatory policies.
    • Proficient in financial assessment, profitability monitoring, and inventory management.
    • Demonstrated leadership abilities, decision-making skills, and capacity to prioritize tasks.
    • Familiarity with email, Microsoft Office, and relevant operational applications.Experience
      • Minimum of 12 months of experience in a retail environment.Physical Requirements
        • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
        • Standing and walking for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour workday.
        • Frequent hand use including grasping, fine manipulation, and pushing/pulling.
        • Engagement in bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions.
        • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning agents.
        • Ability to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
        • Capacity to operate in wet and cold conditions.
        • Proficiency in handling knives and other cutting tools.
        • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
