The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.Role DescriptionThe Information Technology Recovery Coordinator is a part of the Business Service Management group and is responsible for contributing to the planning, coordinating and maintaining of technology recovery execution plans for critical IT resources and services that support the bank's business units in the Americas and EMEA.Role Objectives: Delivery

  • This role develops, maintains and tests disaster recovery and restoration plans.
  • Acts as a key advisor who develops and delivers business continuity plans, policies and programs.
  • Day-to-day focus is on supporting operational execution with some involvement in strategic planning. Reports to the Technology Recovery Coordinator, Manager.
  • Supports the tactical point of contact for internal and external auditors, regulators and investigators.
  • Conducts periodic business and technology recovery tests to ensure continuous delivery of services and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborates with regional Business Continuity Management (BCM) teams to maintain up-to-date BCM programs and plans.
  • Collaborates with IT groups and teams to implement, maintain and upgrade minimum infrastructure and technology resources at approved locations for recovery execution and testing.
  • Participates in annual Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to qualify minimum recovery requirements with business entities; works with BCM team to maintain technology compliance with BCM industry guidelines from regulatory bodies (i.e. Federal Reserve Bank, New York State Bank, Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council, Bank of Japan, California Dept. of Business Oversight).Qualifications and Skills
    • 3+ years of professional experience in Information Technology and Business Continuity Management.
    • Knowledge of and experience in Business Continuity Management (in particular Technology Recovery Planning), Crisis Management, Business Impact Analysis, Risk Analysis, Recovery Planning and Execution.
    • Advanced written, verbal and interpersonal communication; ability to collaborate with others, influence people and resolve conflicts.
    • Analytical skills necessary to troubleshoot a variety of symptoms, diagnose problems, and test, recommend and implement solutions to technology problems.
    • Working knowledge of internal and external auditing including analysis, controls assessment and reporting.
    • Highly developed sense of accountability and follow through with ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks, projects and goals.
    • Education: Required: BA / BS
    • Preferred:Licenses / Certifications / Registrations: CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional), PMP (Project Management Professional), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor).Additional RequirementsSMBC's employees participate in a hybrid workforce model that provides employees with an opportunity to work from home, as well as, from an SMBC office.
