Job Description:
This position is on-site 4 days per week and 1 day from home in
Tarrytown, NY, Basking Ridge, NJ or Armonk, NY. A fully remote role
is not possible for this position. This role will be responsible
for designing and implementing Regeneron Global Developments (GD)
artificial intelligence (AI) program a key component of GDs digital
transformation strategy Implementing concrete initiatives, from
more intelligent protocol design to automated document generation
and analysis, the Exec Dir will make the best use of our resources
to improve cycle times and deliver medicines to patients faster.
The position will be responsible for both strategy and technical
development; therefore, a significant amount of technical work will
be involved in making it successful. In a typical day, you will:
Lead AI/Machine Learning Strategy and Implementation. Define and
execute Global Developments AI/ML strategy, ensuring alignment with
business goals, overall company strategy, and R&D priorities.
This involves identifying opportunities for AI adoption and related
automation, creating roadmaps, and overseeing the development and
deployment of AI solutions. Co-lead GDs digital transformation
strategy Partner with Clinical Development Unit leaders to help
implement AI and automation Partner with leaders across Global
Development and senior leaders across Regeneron to develop and
execute on use cases involving AI and advanced analytics Develop
advanced analytic platforms incorporating AI, ML, and/or advanced
visualization techniques Lead a team of scientists and developers
in developing and implementing specific AI-based tools and
processes Drive data and platform strategy across Global
Development by providing critical feedback on robust data
organization, governance, and accessibility frameworks that support
high-quality, analysis-ready data. Integrate this strategy with
those across other business units (e.g. Commercial, Research, etc.)
As necessary, lead initiatives to build the required infrastructure
(software and hardware) to support AI and advanced analytics,
including vendor evaluation, in partnership with IT Proactively
develop new techniques and algorithms to address high-impact areas
and that may lead to academic publications Design and execute AI
verification frameworks to assess assumptions and limitations;
ensure transparency, reproducibility, and regulatory readiness;
maintain the ethical and responsible use of AI; and ensure
alignment with scientific and operational decision-makers Represent
Global Development while working with other business units and IT
to coordinate an enterprise AI strategy, including potential
enterprise-wide platforms, adding or reconfiguring necessary roles,
etc. Co-lead enterprise AI governance initiatives, working with
enterprise IT, privacy, compliance, and other key stakeholders
Mentor GD colleagues to refine their AI and analytic skills
including promoting continuous learning and fostering skills to
prepare colleagues to work with and leverage the potential of AI To
be considered you must possess: A PhD and 12 years of experience
preferred, OR M.S or MBA : 15 years of experience can be
considered, or Bachelor's degree and 17 years of experience. An
advanced degree in computer science, medicine, biomedical
informatics, or a related field At least 7 years experience
developing and leading the implementation of AI-related tools and
strategy, including accountability for the success of the
implementation, in life sciences or healthcare. Familiarity with
Python, R, or another programming language Proven track-record of
building, scaling, and maintaining computational, AI-based
solutions, ideally on cloud-based platforms such as AWS As part of
a senior leadership team, experience implementing an evaluating
enterprise-wide AI or automation projects with demonstrated
outcomes Experience with critical evaluation of model performance
and generalizability Demonstrated experience working with
large-scale, complex datasets, particularly in the regulated
healthcare or clinical trial setting; understanding of clinical
data standards is preferred Experience implementing
production-level LLMs in a clinical or life sciences setting is a
preferred Experience presenting to and educating senior leadership
around foundational technology investments and applied technology
go/no-go decisions, especially with non-technical audiences Proven
ability to work in a matrixed organization, developing and leading
complex projects with multiple stakeholders while developing a
network of subject matter experts A track record of peer-reviewed
or validated accomplishments, e.g. scholarly publications or
published tools and code May require travel up to 20% Does this

- $468,900.00
