The PositionArch Insurance Group Inc., AIGI, has an opening with the Claims Division on the Construction Defect Team as an Assistant Vice President. In this role, the responsibilities include collaborating with Third Party Claim Administrator (TPA) management team as well as managing internal Construction Defect Adjustors in achieving high standards of productivity, efficiency, and alignment of organizational goals to ensure compliance with all local, federal and state regulations related to claims while minimizing risk/exposure to the Arch organization.Job ResponsibilitiesSpecific duties include but not limited to the below:Identify and assess coverage issues, retain coverage counsel when necessary as well as review coverage counsel's opinion letters and analysisDevelop and implement strategy relative to coverage issues which correlate with the overall strategy of matters entrusted to the handler's careMaintain contact with the TPA claim staff, business line leader, underwriter, and defense counsel, program manager and brokerAnalyze and direct risk transfer, additional insured issues and contractual indemnity issues; analyze coverage, liability and damages for purposes of assessing and recommending reservesIdentify opportunities for loss cost reduction and support strategies that result in improved financial outcomesProvide technical expertise and oversight to CAM's (Claims Account Manager) with analysis and handling of coverage/liability issuesConduct training sessions on current topics and facilitate both internal and external partnership calls to discuss issues of concern with all assigned TPA & CAM team membersPartner with other business units leadership team members to ensure consistency in process and quality claim handling across business unitsPrepare and present written/oral reports to senior management setting forth all issues influencing evaluation and recommending reserves Negotiate resolution of claimsDirect, lead and finalize all TPA claim transfersTravel to and from locations within the United States to attend mediations, trials, and other proceedings relevant to the resolution of the matterManage the trial committee process to include review of cases set for trial, assist in development of a resolution strategy, oversee reporting process to Home Office Specific duties include but not limited to the below:Identify and assess coverage issues, retain coverage counsel when necessary as well as review coverage counsel's opinion letters and analysisDevelop and implement strategy relative to coverage issues which correlate with the overall strategy of matters entrusted to the handler's careMaintain contact with the TPA claim staff, business line leader, underwriter, and defense counsel, program manager and brokerAnalyze and direct risk transfer, additional insured issues and contractual indemnity issues; analyze coverage, liability and damages for purposes of assessing and recommending reservesIdentify opportunities for loss cost reduction and support strategies that result in improved financial outcomesProvide technical expertise and oversight to CAM's (Claims Account Manager) with analysis and handling of coverage/liability issuesConduct training sessions on current topics and facilitate both internal and external partnership calls to discuss issues of concern with all assigned TPA & CAM team membersPartner with other business units leadership team members to ensure consistency in process and quality claim handling across business unitsPrepare and present written/oral reports to senior management setting forth all issues influencing evaluation and recommending reserves Negotiate resolution of claimsDirect, lead and finalize all TPA claim transfersTravel to and from locations within the United States to attend mediations, trials, and other proceedings relevant to the resolution of the matterManage the trial committee process to include review of cases set for trial, assist in development of a resolution strategy, oversee reporting process to Home Office Desired Skills/ExperienceBachelor---s degree required; Juris Doctorate degree preferredTen to fifteen (10-15) years of working experience with commercial accounts supporting construction liability claimsConstruction defect experience as a front-line claims adjuster/supervisor, as well as experience in a service/account management roleHands-on experience and strong aptitude with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and WordExceptional communication (written and verbal), evaluating, influencing, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills to effectively develop productive working relationships with internal/external peers and other professionals across organizational linesStrong problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical, organizational, and time management skillsAbility to take part in active strategic discussionsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentExcellent presentation skills & ability to make decisions in a team-based environmentWilling and able to travel 20%The CompanyArch Insurance is a global insurer offering our clients superior coverage and service.
