Job Description:
Experience * Product Control experience* Some accounting
experience preferred* Fixed Income products exposure
(Cash/Derivatives)* Interacting with offshore Product
ControlResponsibility* Daily interaction with Offshore counterparts
to resolve exceptions and issues raised* Remote training offshore
counterparts and reviewing their output for accuracy* Daily Balance
sheet, PnL preparation, reporting and commentary* Daily Front
Office to subledger system reconciliation and analysis * First
point of contact for Trading Desk queries and resolving Flash to
Formal variances.* Product exposure includes - Bonds, Loans,
Equities, Derivatives* Record activity across multiple legal
entities - intercompany reconciliations* Daily interaction across
multiple support functions to resolve PL issues: Front Office,
Regulatory, Treasury, Operations, Corporate Control, Information
Technology, Offshore* Create journal entries to record in the
subledger to adjust PL and inventory* Month-end close
responsibility, including General Ledger substantiation* Quarterly
disclosure preparation and other external reporting deliverables*
Quarterly due diligence PL and Balance sheet explain* Perform test
cycles for system upgrades and change initiatives* Contribute to
the continued enhancement of controls and processes* Contribute to
Department wide initiativesSkills* Resourceful problem solver *
Independent thinker* Team oriented* Detail Oriented* Ability to
create general ledger journal entries directly from trial balance /
from deal docs and flows* Demonstrates initiative - information is
not readily available or reconciled, must be independent enough to
create/request/track and follow up to resolution* Excellent
communication skills - can liaise across multiple departments and
achieve results* Self-sufficient, Independent, results driven,
strong academic background* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for
data mining, analyzing, formatting and reporting data is a must
