As you embark on a new journey, you'll tackle challenges with flexibility and grace, learning new skills and advancing your career while having the time of your life.Why You'll Love This Job:Being a member of our Risk Management team, you'll work to protect the safety and soundness of our systems and are responsible for identifying, leading, measuring and mitigating a spectrum of key risk types including credit, market, liquidity, systemic, operational and technology in all existing and new products, activities, processes and systems.Your PrimaryResponsibilities:DTCC's Operational Risk Management (ORM) program is designed to identify, run, measure and mitigate operational risks in all existing and new products, activities, processes and systems. The Operational Risk Management Department supervises the ORM program, including the following:Maintaining and improving DTCC's operational risk management framework.The framework is comprised of tools and processes to help DTCC:Identify new risks changes in risk, or relationships between risksAssess the scope and quality of internal controls, andSupervise and advance key matters of risk and controlFormulating, disseminating and administering operational risk management policy and proceduresProviding advice and leading risk and control projects to support DTCC Corporate Goals and improving the control environmentRegularly providing executive management and the Board of Directors with reports on the status of the ORM business plan and the organization's enterprise risk profileLiaising with Legal, Finance, Information Security, Compliance, and other subject matter experts within the organization to ensure that risks and appropriate mitigants are identified and communicated throughout the organizationStaying up to date on evolving industry standard methodologies and regulatory expectations; meeting regularly with regulators, internal auditors to inform them of current initiatives and future plansAn Aligned Risk Manager has primary responsibility for operational risk management coverage of one or more business areas. The incumbent will execute and coordinate day-to-day operational risk management activities (such as risk and controls assessments, incident collection and analysis, and operational risk reporting), handle deadlines and partner expectations, and lead or participate in projects within his or her assigned areas of responsibility. In carrying these responsibilities, the incumbent must work collaboratively within the OTR team, with other risk & control functions, as well as, with business line management. The incumbent will support reporting and presentations to senior management, the Board Risk Committee, and Regulatory SupervisorsProactively lead efforts to identify and mitigate risk through the assessment of existing processes for assigned business areas and propose process and/or control changes to effectively lead and reduce risk to DTCCPerform independent challenge to First Line of Defense risk management processes and assessmentsMaintain positive relationships with business partners and other risk and control functionsDevelop, communicate and supervise adherence to risk policies, procedures and standard methodologiesFoster an environment of regulatory awareness and ensure regulatory complianceSupport DTCC's core risk management corporate initiatives, including but not limited to: Risk Tolerance Statements, Operational Risk Profiles, New Initiatives Office (NIO), Agile Tribes, Issues and Action remediation, etc.Demonstrate and embed the behaviors and competencies that create a risk management approachSupport ongoing staff education and coach and develop team members on effective risk managementAligned Risk Managers are responsible for effectively challenging assigned business areas for (but not limited to) the following Operational Risk Management processes:Risk ToleranceBusiness Unit Operational Risk ProfilesOperational Risk Incident Management, including analysis and remediation of root causesRisk AcceptancesIssue and Action remediation (through validation process)KRIs / KPIsAligned Risk Managers may also support aspects of the department framework, including:Monthly and quarterly management reportingNew Initiative Risk AssessmentsTargeted Risk and Control AssessmentsRisk monitoring and assessment for new and emerging business areasEnd to End Process Analysis and risk reduction initiativesManagement Control Testing**NOTE:Responsibilitiesof this role are not limited to the details above. **Talents Needed for Success:5 years' experience as a senior risk and control professional within the financial services industry, or equivalentExperience managing relationships with and presenting to senior managementExperience with risk and control self-assessments, control testing and validation, issue management and monitoring of metrics/key risk indicators is preferredRisk Management/Audit background and management experience is a plusExcellent analytical and problem solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong technology background, including concepts such as application development, change management, and enterprise infrastructureDemonstrated ability to work pro-actively with all levels of management and staffHighly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter, who can set priorities, take initiative and work both independently and proactively in a dynamic team environmentAbility to work under pressure, multitask and be flexibleAbility/willingness to meet aggressive deadlines and objectivesStrong planning and project management skillsKnowledge of the security markets, post-trade processing and clearing and settlement infrastructure preferredStrong process mapping and data collection and analysis skillsBA / BS.
