Corporate and Firmwide Employee Communications is an integral function within JPMorgan Chase, focused on reinforcing our culture and keeping employees informed and engaged with the firm's priorities and diverse businesses. The team is a trusted advisor to senior leaders, key stakeholders and other communications managers across the company and utilizes a variety of engagement channels and tools. Among these are intranet sites, the employee newspaper, digital signage, email messages, internal exhibits, learning sessions and large and small employee meetings.

Summary

This candidate will provide executive and employee communications strategy and support to Corporate and Employee Experience Technology Chief Information Officer (CIO), Firmwide Chief Data Officer and the Head of Technology Strategy, Innovation & Partnerships at JPMorgan Chase, and provide oversight for North America and Latin America Technology Centers' location-specific employee communications. The candidate will also be responsible for leading Global Technology and firmwide communications on key tech innovation initiatives and programs. This individual will have management responsibilities for one employee and report to the Head of Global Technology Communications.

As a senior member of the Global Technology (GT) Communications team, he/she/they will be directly responsible for supporting and working with senior technology leadership, developing strategic communication strategies and creating content that drives employee engagement and increases comprehension of major programs and initiatives.

Major Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the first point of contact, communications lead and strategic advisor for the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Corporate and Employee Experience, Firmwide Chief Data Officer and the Head of Technology Strategy & Partnerships
  • Create and execute a communications plan to achieve leadership objectives and connect the dots to show how they align to the GT strategy and firmwide experience objectives, as well as line of business and function partnerships
  • Serve as a member of technology leadership teams and regularly attend department and leadership meetings throughout the organization to listen, collect feedback, source content ideas and information to develop relevant, compelling and timely communications. Regularly share updates, present ideas and progress to leadership at all levels.
  • Work with senior members of Global Technology and internal partners
  • Ability to think strategically and to create and execute communications plans on complex topics that span global audiences
  • Write and distribute targeted communications including executive messages, strategic business updates, video scripts, technology and innovation success stories, people-related communications, organization announcements, as well as other timely business messages.
  • Partner with Senior Leadership Team members to organize and execute key employee and senior leadership meetings, including town halls, offsites, small group sessions and site visits.
  • Source, develop and deliver a steady and compelling communications content pipeline for employees (via intranet, email, collateral, video, talking points, articles, blogs, town halls, social media, etc.) consistent with objectives related to Global Technology's vision, values and objectives, as well as client specific goals and programs. Track, report, strengthen and share the content pipeline regularly.
  • Regularly pitch compelling content to firmwide, Global Tech and other internal and external partner channels to maximize reach, impact and understanding
  • Own, post, edit, source, write and maintain intranet content and design, and create or source communications-related graphics as needed: including presentations, print/web collateral, surveys, newsletters etc.
  • Track and analyze metrics to report, refine and improve ongoing tactics and/or to identify opportunities to implement new communications methodologies across clients.
  • Manage one VP-level employee, mentor and regularly partner with team members by sharing ideas, feedback and best practices

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of internal and corporate strategic communications experience, including executive and organizational communications, extensive content development, hands-on writing, editing, project management, and presentation building
  • BA/BS in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related degree
  • Experience in technology communications strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success developing executive-level messages and communication plans, providing communications counsel to senior management teams, and executing strong communications strategies
  • Excellent writing skills with a strong ability to take complex concepts and deliver them into simple/digestible communications
  • Organized self-starter, project manager and multi-tasker with a proven ability to track complex and overlapping milestones and manage multiple priorities and urgent deadlines
  • Experience and confidence in working with C-suite executives - and serving as an advisor.
  • Experience managing teams and passion for growing and developing junior employees
  • A creative and innovative thinker
  • Outstanding judgment and interpersonal skills, including partnering effectively with executives, peers and other functional groups across the company
  • High level of independence, energy and integrity, demonstrates respect for a diversity of opinions and styles, and takes accountability and accepts responsibility
  • A team player who regularly seeks to learn from key partners, learn new things and share best practices. A willingness to offer and ask for help as needed
  • Experience with Intranet design, other design software, content development, email management systems and collaboration and measurement tools
  • Expertise in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
