At AWS, we're searching for transformation consultants to join the AWS Professional Services Global Financial Services delivery team that engages with top financial services customers around the globe. Through deep professional services engagements, we help customers recalibrate their overall cloud data vision, data strategy, data governance operating model & roadmap - and then assist them to execute on that roadmap.

This is a hybrid role requiring exceptional sales and delivery skills. The role starts by working with customer facing account team to shape and provide the client solution for their business requirements and then go on to work with the delivery team to implement the solution. It is an individual with a unique data and analytics expertise, having hands-on building skills, along with obsession for customers, and their success using AWS that will align well with the desired outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining C-level relationships with customers, stakeholders, advisory consultants, partners, often becoming the "trusted advisor" on data strategy related topics
  • Providing strategic guidance, collaborative coordination, creative problem solving and administrative authority necessary to achieve mission-critical reforms and advances in data management. This includes, but is not limited to large-scale data lakes, data warehousing, data analytics, data governance, data security, and data access across the Organization
  • Review data analytics offerings and customize for use with in financial services customers, as needed. Co-ordinate effort to identify and develop newer offerings for financial services customer.
  • Ensuring that basic metrics for the data governance, lineage, data quality management, metadata management, architecture, systems and processes have been identified, that an ongoing assessment process of these metrics is implemented, and a proactive operating model focusing on addressing business demand for data is in place
  • Be responsible for engagements, including the ability to balance team and your own responsibilities; building teams and consensus; getting things done through others not directly under his or her supervision; and working ethically and with integrity

This is a customer facing role. You will be required to travel to client locations to deliver professional services when needed.

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
  • 5+ years experience delivering business outcomes in Data, Analytics or Machine Learning solutions
  • Experience with the DWH/Spark/Hadoop Ecosystem
  • Experience with on premise transactional database environments such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL and/or Postgres, as well as MPP databases (Teradata, Netezza, Vertica and Greenplum)
  • Experience with data operations, cloud computing, data strategy, data architecture, and data governance
  • Masters or MBA in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Math, or applicable field.
  • Experience on creating and executing data governance organizational change management strategies as part of a larger transformation
  • Experience selling and delivering billable professional services
  • Effective managerial track record, including the ability to balance team and team member responsibility; building teams and consensus; getting things done through others not directly under his or her supervision; and working ethically and with integrity
  • Knowledge of data structure, data system and tools, related software, and data management policies and practices in a complex organizational environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage numerous demands from internal / external stakeholders and Customers
  • Ability to collaborate with Global and Enterprise account teams and sales teams to drive adoption of Data Solutions in top accounts
  • Knowledge of data governance, data munging, and data quality tools like Collibra, Alation, Ataccama, Informatica IDQ, Trifacta, PaxataKnowledge of data landscape including the DWH/Spark/Hadoop Ecosystem
