T he CIB Markets, Sales & Research Training provides best-in-class training to support business priorities and to develop and retain top talent in the industry. Our global and regional training programs are distinguished by extensive business engagement with CIB professionals who are actively involved in training design, instruction or facilitation.

Job Overview

This Associate, based in Jersey City, NJ, reporting to the global head of Markets, Sales & Research and Securities Services Training, will be responsible for leading the design, development and execution of select Front Office Markets, Sales & Research training initiatives, with special focus on the technical and professional skills training needs.

This Associate will work closely with L&D colleagues globally to ensure that the training programs address the training and development needs of our NAMR based clients, while providing globally consistent knowledge and skill building as appropriate for role and level.

As a leader of the function, this Associate will develop strong relationships with HR Business Partners and Line of Business executives. They will serve as a training advisor and coach for the business by staying current on Training best practices, Markets, Sales & Research business priorities and evolving client solutions.

Core Responsibilities

  • Relationship Management - establish strong relationships and ongoing dialogue with key Markets, Sales & Research stakeholders in coordination with team and global L&D colleagues.
  • Needs assessment - identification of training needs in partnership with the HR Business Partners, Development, Training colleagues and all key Business Stakeholders
  • Communication - keep Global Heads of Markets, Sales & Research Training & Development, and other HR stakeholders apprised of new initiatives
  • Project Initiation/Scoping - identification of training needs in partnership with the HR Business Partners, Development, Training colleagues and all key Business Stakeholders, or L&D Director/Manager or business sponsor. Consult with client to conduct initial project scoping to understand request, current state, gap analysis and root cause analysis. Collect initial documentation from the client and Subject Matter Experts. Work with client to complete performance agreement. Summarize request and presents to training team management for approval to start project.
  • Program design - partner with subject matter experts and/or vendors to design training solutions that may involve in person classroom, virtual or online delivery. Ensure course content meets evolving business strategies and priorities.
  • Program facilitation and/or delivery - effectively lead programs for audiences ranging from VP through Managing Director. Establish rollout strategy/training plan. Hold SMEs and others accountable for content delivery, review and approval deadlines, escalates appropriately. Regularly communicate project status to all involved parties.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of training delivered against program objectives.
  • Change Management and Maintenance - Stay current with business changes and update online training content, as needed, in a timely manner to reflect business changes.
  • Vendor relationship management - liaise and partner with vendors delivering technical, product and professional training to ensure successful delivery for our clients.
  • Oversee program budgets Other ad-hoc duties in support of Learning & Development activities.

Skills & Other Requirements
  • Experience in designing and delivering training programs preferable
  • Experience in a client focused work environment; ability to build strong relationships, including senior business managers
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate with others in a matrix environment
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Innovative, problem solving mind set
  • Excellent judgement and decision-making skills
  • Track record of managing complex training initiatives or similar events
  • PC competence, especially MS applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), Captivate, and Storyline
  • Working knowledge of Markets, Sales & Research job roles, environment, goals, culture, policies/procedures (preferred)
