Job Description

Our Enterprise Data Services team is in search of a hands-on AWS cloud architect and leader to design and build complex batch and real-time pipelines enabling ML/AI capabilities across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will work with a team of engineers in the United States and India to build, deploy, and support custom data pipelines, data warehouses, data lakes, APIs, and analytical platforms to serve internal and external customers in the Insurance domain. We are in the beginning stages of a major transformational effort and this is rare chance to utilize your unique experiences, skills, and ideas to make incredibly impactful contributions. You will work on cutting edge, high-value products with visibility across the organization.

Day-to-day Responsibilities Include

  • Solution Architecture, hands-on development, and operationalization of Analytical platform components and data pipelines
  • Collaborate with data scientists for data integration, preparation, and feature engineering
  • Guide ML-ops infrastructure, operations, and modernization
  • Mentor and lead a centralized data team
  • Collaborate with Business Champions, Product Managers, data scientists, data SMEs, Project Managers, Scrum Masters, CDO, Security and Architecture Review Board
  • Translate vision to architecture and architecture to requirements and for agile development
  • Guide Dev-ops automation, cloud maturity, and cloud cost control
  • Plan for Security, backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and archiving
  • Production Support
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in IS, CS, or related field and 4-6 years of relevant experience
    • Recent, hands-on development experience with AWS Services (Lambda, Step Functions, Glue, EMR, API Gateway, EC2, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, SQS, ECS, EKS, Fargate, etc.) and AWS SDKs/CLI required
    • Recent, hands-on Python and PySpark development experience
    • Applied experience in solution architecture and business critical platform design
    • Practical knowledge of SQL, Terrraform, Gitlab
    • Practical knowledge of Data Warehousing Platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, Postgres)
    • Exposure to Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI and ThoughtSpot
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills including ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group settings to stakeholders, clients, and fellow team members
    • Exceptional problem-solving/critical thinking and root cause analysis skills
    • Ability to learn and adapt new technologies
    • Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) a plus
    • Experience deploying machine learning models is highly desired as well as prior Insurance domain experience
    • Occasional travel is required
