Chubb is seeking an innovative and strategic Head of Data Strategy & Management for its North American Insurance operations. North America Insurance is a $24 billion business and Chubb's largest division comprising commercial and consumer P&C insurance businesses in the United States, Canada and Bermuda. The successful candidate is a creative leader with an extensive strategic data management background and a unique blend of business acumen, technical acumen, data acumen and analytics acumen. As the company continues to undergo its digital transformation, the successful candidate should have significant experience in enterprise data and strategic analytics practices as they apply to all things data. As part of the North America Data & Analytics leadership team, you will be a key business partner, working collaboratively with business unit leaders to achieve aggressive business plans, deepen customer and business partner relationships, IT partners, and vendors to ensure we maximize the investments made, as well as gaps that need attention. This role will be the catalyst in cultivating the organization on data, better data management practices, with a goal of strong data practices, creating an environment of learning about data vs controlling it. This role will be responsible for taking all things data into consideration for the enterprise, and advanced analytics teams. This leader will collaborate IT, Operations, and Digital to enable collecting, combining, architecting, integrating, and maintaining data. Deep expertise in data integration, data cataloging, architecture and data governance / operations is required. This leader will also have exceptional collaboration and influencing skills as well as a background in data engineering, schemas, QA, and programming. Reporting: -This role will report to the Executive Vice President, N.A. Data & Analytics, with a dotted line to t he EVP Chubb Group Digital Transformation Officer.
Responsibilities:

  • Aligning business initiatives with the data strategies
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive data management strategy, focused on North America, improving the quality data, enriching the decision makers information
  • Build a Data Management competency which entails Integrations, Catalogs, Data Quality, Data Architecture
  • Understand the reusability of data across North America business units and ensure data are managed optimally
  • Implement Cataloging and a workflow to deliver datasets securely to the enterprise
  • Streamline the data processes
  • Data Management Practices
    • Align processes, and technologies to streamline, catalog and improve the management of our datasets
    • Create and implement data management standards
    • Create engagement of data and data management throughout the organization
    • Define and manage metrics, designed to determine effectiveness of data quality
    • Create communication for changes, improvements, new information to the data community
    • As a subject matter expert on the use and interpretation of relevant data sources, maintain the review of data mapping and lineage across Chubb's data systems
    • Work with the different business units to prioritize initiatives, contemplating tradeoffs of potential benefits, cost, feasibility, and implementation challenges
    • Collaborate Global and NA Data & Analytics teams to design data solutions and develop and prioritize business requirement features that conform to model standards
    • Leadership and Influencing
      • Collaborating with others in the industry to learn and improve CHUBBs data environment
      • Cultivate the organization on the value of data
      • Partner with digital transformation leaders to support their data initiatives
      • Drive strategic partnership with to senior leaders at the company by proactively identifying opportunities for innovation, improvement, and growth
      • Collaborate with internal business partners on value proposition definitions, strategy, execution, and measurement of effectiveness
      • Data Governance
        • Work with global IT leadership, NA IT leadership, NA Data & Analytics leadership, Global Digital, and Operations leadership teams to develop and implement frameworks for effective data governance Qualifications
          • 10+ years of experience data and analytics as a leader
          • 10+ years of experience as an IT Leader
          • Highly knowledgeable of advanced and emerging analytical tools, such as web scraping, machine learning models, and Python Proven experience as a strategic leader who brings operational experience in the areas of technology and innovation
          • Deep experience in providing data driven consultation (either internally or as an external consultant) to business unit leaders in relatable terms that enable those leaders to drive a future facing strategy as informed by data Track record of building high-performing teams that can work in ambiguous environments
          • Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Must be able to present complex issues in a manner that is easily understood by a non-technical audience
