Linux/Unix System AdministratorJersey City, New Jersey;Richardson, Texas; Charlotte, North Carolina**Job Description:**Establishes input/output processes and working parameters for hardware /software compatibility, coordination of subsystems design, and integration of total system.Provide Linux/Unix Systems Administrator support for Backup MRA Activities.Responsible for performing daily Linux/Unix support tasks and documentation of technical standards.This position requires hands-on experience in a multitude of domains; including, but not limited to incident, change, problem management, and general IT support.+ Strong RedHat (RHEL) Linux/Unix background on physical and virtual environments+ Experience in managing and maintaining Virtual Machines in VMWare Virtual Centers, adjusting the resources, vMotion+ Support/Manage RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating system on VM or x86 hardware, configure and maintain Linux/Unix Operating system, enterprise tools+ Perform/Assist on server recovery/restoral+ Provide technical assistance/solutions to a wide range of user requests through an established ticketing system+ Engage and partner with vendors/engineering and other technical teams as needed+ Should have knowledge on different types of file systems+ Experience in DNS, DHCP, NTP+ Experience in configuring RedHat Cluster(and similar technologies) and troubleshooting+ Experience troubleshooting OS and Hardware related issues.+ VMware Administration, installing VMware tools+ Flexibility to cover various work schedules M-F 8-5pm EST,12-9pm EST and weekend coverage+ Experience with on call support for the production environments & troubleshooting production applications**Primary Skill**+ Vmware**Secondary Skill**+ Virtualization**Required Skills**+ Strong knowledge of RedHat Linux System Administration+ Experience with IBM/HP or Dell x86 hardware Administration+ Strong knowledge of Virtual(VMware) Server Administration+ Strong Cluster Administration experience (RedHat Pacemaker, Veritas Cluster)+ Experience with PXE boot configuration and troubleshooting network connectivity issue around VLANs, subnets, and firewall+ Performance Management - Analyze existing process/application and suggest improvements to eliminate performance bottle necks with available server resource+ Responsible for providing specialized technical and product support to data center personnel diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging of all OS related issues+ Storage management: Veritas Infoscale, LVM, EMC and IBM. SAN/NAS+ Working knowledge of AD(Active Directory) authentication, Kerberos, SSSD, Vintella(QAS), PowerBroker or similar products+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work on multiple Initiatives+ Strong understanding of Operational Controls and Risk governance aligned to ITIL framework**Desired Skills**+ Experience in Solaris or AIX System Administration is a plus+ Experience with IBM pSeries and/or Oracle/Sun Sparc hardware is a plus+ Knowledge of Solaris/AIX virtual environments: IBM WPARs, Solaris zones+ Exposure to load balancing tools & concepts, experience of networking, storage+ Working knowledge/experience of managing Linux/Unix servers within DMZ environments Strong Shell , Perl or Python scripting skills+ Knowledge of BMC Bladelogic RedHat Linux Certification is a plus+ Experience with Remedy ITSM (Change, Incident, Service request management) Meticulous attention to detail and understanding of interdependencies of actions Strong communication, collaboration, and coordination skills+ Ability to work in a high pressure, large scale, business critical environment.
