Position OverviewThe Meat Department Supervisor plays a crucial role in assisting team leadership with the management of meat department personnel and ensuring the seamless daily operations of the section.Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees and maintains attractive meat displays that draw customer interest.
  • Supervises and assigns tasks to meat team members effectively.
  • Collaborates with the team trainer to cultivate a high-performance workforce and reduce turnover.
  • Participates in the onboarding and training of new employees using established training materials.
  • Addresses and resolves challenging customer interactions with professionalism.
  • Ensures that all team members receive their designated breaks.
  • Monitors completion of temperature, sanitation, and sweeping logs.
  • Sets and achieves superior standards of retail execution.
  • Encourages a positive work environment characterized by teamwork, respect, and high morale.
  • Maintains awareness of customer needs and directs team members to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Selects, trains, and mentors team members to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Communicates and upholds safety and security standards for team members.
  • Conducts timely and comprehensive performance evaluations.
  • Consistently embodies and communicates the company's vision and objectives.Required Skills
    • Exceptional communication skills with a focus on leadership and development.
    • In-depth knowledge of meat department procedures and policies.
    • Thorough understanding of meat products and the ability to convey animal living conditions to customers.
    • Strong interpersonal, motivational, and customer relationship skills.
    • Ability to instruct others in a constructive and positive manner.
    • Comprehensive product knowledge.
    • Advanced understanding of safety and regulatory policies.
    • Proficient mathematical skills for evaluating financial performance and managing inventory.
    • Demonstrated leadership abilities with effective decision-making and prioritization skills.
    • Familiarity with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related software.Experience
      • A minimum of 12 months of retail experience is required.Physical Requirements
        • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
        • In an 8-hour workday: standing/walking for 6-8 hours.
        • Hand use includes single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
        • Work involves bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
        • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
        • Ability to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
        • Capacity to work in a wet and cold environment.
        • Ability to handle knives and other cutting tools safely.
        • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
