Job DescriptionWhat are the emerging risks that keep the P/C insurance and risk management industry up at night? Identifying such risks, reporting on them in an efficient and timely manner is one of the key mission critical goals of the ISO Emerging Issues team. From technology to health to energy to cybersecurity to the environment, with our suite of services we help the industry keep up with evolving risks that their businesses may face. (For examples of topics, see our public intro page here: ) With this new role, we would like to do more for our customers. The team would like to develop new emerging issues products leveraging data and analytics. Your Role on the Team As the ISO Emerging Product Development Data Analyst you will identify relevant data from both public, third-party, and internal proprietary sources. Once identified, you will explore the many possible ways to leverage data and combinations of data to glean new emerging issues insights for our engaged customer base. You mission will include the following: Mine information data sources and streams that include white papers, government reports, scientific studies, news articles and social media posts for relevant trends.Develop and maintain information data visualizations that convey trend insights to customers.Identify correlations among available datasets, proxies for risk and indicators of exposure.Develop and maintain internal and customer-facing data dashboards.Analyze internal data to identify where emerging issues data may provide value.Create new datasets to support the product development of data tools for customers.QualificationsBachelor's degree in related field.Has an understanding of insurance and risk management.Active pursuit of CPCU and/or Actuarial designation or other insurance education preferred.Has the ability to implement data mining techniques on large data sets.Has the ability to innovate with multiple data sets.Proficiency in the use of database programs preferred.Has business analytical skills.Can think creatively and critically.Can articulate and write research findings in an intelligible manner.Can convey technical findings in a non-technical way.Proficiency with data visualization tools preferred.Can design, develop, implement and maintain a database and manage data analysis efforts.Can use tools and technologies to analyze both structured and unstructured data.Can work independently and with a team.Can work with changing timeframes and priorities.Has interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task.Pays attention to detail.Has project management skills.#LI-ND1Additional InformationVerisk Analytics is an equal opportunity employer.
