About the role:

As an Insurance Risk Management Claims Analyst with CBRE, you will assist the Insurance Risk Management Claims Director and Manager with the following, but not limited to: the oversight, direction, and overall management of the day to day domestic and international general liability/casualty claims function within the Company.

What you'll do:

  • Assist responsible claim team members in the management of liability claims for all commercial insurer and captive insurance programs. Analyze coverage and carrier response to same.
  • Document and communicate claim activity timely and effectively and in a manner, which supports the proper outcome of the claim file, including ensuring timely and adequate reporting and reserves, proper investigation, overall claim management, and settlement authorization consults. Complete assigned work via diaries and work queues in a timely manner.
  • Provide settlement authority within stated authority level.
  • Be responsible for the authorization of and issuance of indemnity and expense payments by carrier.
  • Ensure adherence to and compliance with CBRE internal protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct claim review audits of carriers, TPAs, vendors and internal business parties to ensure claims reporting and handling standards and compliance. Where applicable, provide TPA and claim vendor oversight.
  • Review insurance policy wording to ensure understanding and proper application of coverage.
  • Partner with internal and external counsel in setting and pursuing effective and cost-efficient litigation strategies for claims in litigation.
  • Handle processing and payment of claims related invoices.
  • Assist with coding and coding audit of various claims.
  • Manage, organize, and retains insurance claims records (electronic files), submissions and other correspondence within RMIS system and as otherwise appropriate.
  • Liaise between internal and external customers, insurance carriers, insurance carrier assigned defense counsel, and brokers to support the daily administration of claims arising from various casualty insurance programs. Address and resolves all requests for information, documentation and discovery requests, and responds timely and efficiently.
  • Assist in preparation of dashboard and other reports regarding claim analytics, metrics, trends, costs, emerging liability and other considerations.
  • Assist with Insurance Risk Management policy/contract drafting initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team to identify claim trends to identify for internal partners.
  • No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.

    • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
    • Bachelor's degree required. JD preferred. Claim related certifications such as CPCU, ARM, AIM, SCLA and/or AIC a plus!
    • 3-5 years Liability claims handling and/or claims management experience including handling complex, high value claims from initial report to closure
    • Experience with carrier claim systems and/or RMIS systems (Origami preferred) to manage claims and reporting to senior management.
    • Strong technical knowledge of casualty/liability claims. Analytical skills.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to clients. Thrive in a team environment and set own project timeframes.
    • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office required, specifically, sophisticated Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Advanced data analytics / modeling skills required.
