Summary of the Position Description:
The YMCA of Newark and Vicinity is seeking a Part Time Afterschool Site Supervisor for Afterschool programs located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a great opportunity for those who care to instill positive values in children while teaching them new skills. All staff will be required to model the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility in their work each day. The YMCA's recruitment process includes comprehensive background check and upon hire, extensive training. The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the day-to day operations of the School Age before or after care Program site. The individual is required to provide coaching and working with the Tutors, Specialists and Counselors to create a safe, caring and enriching environment for all children at all times. The Site Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the YMCA policies and Licensing standards are met regarding day- to- day operations including maintaining up to date records, ensuring supervision policies are implemented, guiding the behavior of children, planning and delivering the weekly curriculum and supervising staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma required; college credits/ degree preferred.
• Minimum one year of experience working with children in a group setting Before/Afterschool programs.
• Minimum one year of supervisory experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels including staff, parents and school staff.
• Strong organizational skills, detailed orientated and planning skills.
• Ability to problem solve and make decisions that adhere to the purpose, mission and goals of the YMCA.
• Experience adhering to Licensing requirements.
• CPR/First Aid/ ADE certifications are required. Schedule: Monday through Friday 2:00PM to 6:00pm. Some evenings for events and Saturdays for Training and special events.
  
  Physical Demand: Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations (depending upon the programs).
