Job Description:
Assistant Vice President of Finance / Controller A leading
public institution is seeking an Assistant Vice President of
Finance to oversee financial operations and ensure fiscal
accountability. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role will
manage accounting functions, compliance, audits, and the transition
to a new ERP system. The ideal candidate will have a strong
accounting background, leadership experience, and a strategic
mindset to enhance financial processes and support organizational
goals. Experience in the nonprofit sector and managing public
funding is highly preferred. Why This Role? Lead Financial Strategy

public finance. Your Impact Oversee all financial operations ,
including accounting, payroll, grants administration, and
compliance. Maintain fiscal records and prepare financial reports
aligned with GAAP and government funding regulations. Forecast
short- and long-term cash flow needs, ensuring financial stability
and sustainability. Serve as the primary liaison for external
auditors and lead annual audits with precision. Spearhead the
modernization of financial systems , ensuring a seamless transition
to a new ERP platform. Provide leadership and mentorship to finance
team members, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
Partner with senior executives to enhance financial efficiency and
optimize resource allocation. What You Bring Extensive financial
leadership experience - 8 years overseeing financial management in
large nonprofit or public-sector organizations. Educational &
Professional Excellence - Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
required; CPA and/or MBA is a plus. Technical Savvy - Experience
with ERP systems (Infor Lawson, Workday a plus). Analytical &
Strategic Mindset - Strong knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting,
and government funding compliance. Leadership & Vision - A track
record of leading financial teams, driving change, and mentoring
